The CEPF investment strategy will be funded over five years and is part of a larger process to achieve sustainable development and biodiversity conservation in Mesoamerica.
The investment strategy is designed to add value to existing initiatives and to take advantage of the groundwork laid by other programs in order to avoid duplication of efforts. By strengthening conservation alliances, CEPF will build skills and relationships that will last beyond the funding period, and by focusing its resources to leverage existing initiatives or the work of existing partnerships, such as the Alianza for the Talamanca Ecoregion and ACOSA in the Osa Peninsula of Costa Rica, CEPF can ensure that the impact of its investment will be sustained in the long term.
