Strengthening Public Policy to Mitigate the Impacts of Road Development in the Maya Biosphere Reserve through Public Outreach

Prevent the construction of new roads through the Mayan Biosphere Reserve that would introduce new threats, especially the Uaxactún – Arroyo Negro Road. Key activities and results will include approval of a resolution by the CONAP restricting new roads, public outreach, stakeholder awareness building and collaboration, and cooperation between Mexican and Guatemalan authorities and nongovernmental organizations.
