Apply joint forest management practices to raise awareness about the importance of conserving forests and wildlife in target indigenous ethnic community groups near Ethiopia’s Sheka Forest Key Biodiversity Area, particularly the Menja, Mezhenger, Sheko and other communities that have practiced forest cutting for years. Build capacity of the organized farming cooperatives and promote knowledge sharing and local-level networking with different stakeholders, including government, public, private and research institutions in the Sheka zone and beyond.

Strategic Direction: 1 Mainstream biodiversity into wider development policies, plans and projects to deliver the co-benefits of biodiversity conservation, improved local livelihoods and economic development in priority corridors.
