Enhance the private sector's role in conserving the environment of the Sheka Zone in Ethiopia by creating sustainable livelihoods for the local people and mainstreaming the environmental standards of their operations. The project will create a strong private sector network that, through coordination with government institutions, will enable them to work closely with decision-makers and influence the policy-making process with new and innovative ideas to conserve the environment.

Strategic Direction: 1 Mainstream biodiversity into wider development policies, plans and projects to deliver the co-benefits of biodiversity conservation, improved local livelihoods and economic development in priority corridors.
