Verde Azul (VA) is working with local communities located in Mount Chiperone KBA in order to reduce pressure on natural resources and ecosystems by supporting the development of agro-forestry systems on the slope of the inselberg and mainstreaming conservation agriculture practices among local farmers in the flatlands. Ultimately, VA aims to develop a sustainable model of agriculture in the area that will support local livelihoods and enable community members not to further degrade the inselberg's fragile ecosystem.
1 Mainstream biodiversity into wider development policies, plans and projects to deliver the co-benefits of biodiversity conservation, improved local livelihoods and economic development in priority corridors.
