Improve management of the Pilón Lajas Biosphere Reserve and Indigenous Territory to mitigate threats through strengthening protected areas management capacity; institutional and capacity building of indigenous communities, youth, and their managing council; environmental education; and promoting two women’s livelihoods projects.

Strategic Direction: 1 Strengthen protection and management of 52 priority KBAs to foster participatory governance, green recovery from COVID-19, climate change resilience, species conservation, and financial sustainability.
