Set up an effective system for monitoring wild fires in the dry forests of Kirindy Mite National Park, on the western part of Madagascar. The project supports the establishment of community fire patrols to identify fires at early stage and mobilize communities to fight against fires to limit their impact. Local community committees will also be strengthened in terms of governance and management to extend their role to other livelihood activities.
