Reduce the threats to Indonesia’s Gunung Lompobattang protected forest by maintaining adjacent forest and restoring degraded and fallow areas in its buffer zones. The Gunung Lompobattang protected forest is an Alliance for Zero Extinction site and home to the last remaining population of the Lompobattang flycatcher (Ficedula bonthaina). Smallholder coffee and cocoa farming are the dominant economic activities in the Gunung Lompobattang protected forest buffer zones, and forest encroachment for agriculture expansion remains a significant threat to the future of this Key Biodiversity Area. The project will promote sustainable production of cocoa and coffee, leading to improved management of the forest and surrounding region.
