Manengkel is working Kabupaten Minahasa Utara (Desa Bahoi) and Kabupaten Minahasa (Desa Ranowangko and Desa Atep Oki), falling within the Northern Sulawesi marine corridor. They are creating two new marine protected areas (MPAs) of approximately 40 hectares combined, training community members in MPA management, and creating a network of managers.
