Establish sustainable, long-term mangrove management and restoration strategies that preserve biodiversity and safeguard local livelihoods in the Bay of Assassins. The project aims to reduce deforestation of mangroves through the development of sustainable mangrove harvesting plans and local regulations that govern these plans; restoring degraded areas of mangrove forest, including the establishment of Avicennia marina nurseries to ensure biodiversity is restored through diverse species replanting; and training for local technicians on the management and maintenance of the nurseries to guarantee their long-term sustainability.

Strategic Direction: 1 Empower local communities to protect and manage biodiversity in priority key biodiversity areas.
