Strengthen the effective conservation of KBA ECU44 through the environmental management of this private reserve, which is part of the Mindo – Nambillo Protected Forest and the core zone of the Chocó Andean Biosphere Reserve. Establish a self-sustaining private protected area that is resilient to climate change by defining a management plan with innovative protection, conservation, and promotion measures for its ecosystem services. Conduct research on the different biotic components within the reserve to establish a baseline of species, including their documentation, characterization, and determination of the conservation status of the ecosystem and its biodiversity. Establish a new Learning Center for Conservation and Sustainable Use for Private Landowners and Local Communities of the Chocó Andean region.
Strategic Direction
:
1 Strengthen protection and management of 52 priority KBAs to foster participatory governance, green recovery from COVID-19, climate change resilience, species conservation, and financial sustainability.
