Project objectives are: (1) Assess and provide updated status of the trigger species and population trends (e.g. chimpanzees, endemic and endangered bird species) in Gishwati Forest, (2) document and provide baseline information on less studied species (e.g. amphibians).

Strategic Direction: 2 Improve the protection and management of the KBA network throughout the hotspot.
