Support women’s empowerment for conservation and forest fire prevention and control covering three Key Biodiversity Areas in Ecuador by: supporting women’s livelihoods activities for a plant nursery, ecotourism, and handcrafts; supporting community fires brigades and park guards from Cotacachi Cayapas National Park to develop fire prevention and control manuals; providing training and equipment; and establishing an early warning mechanism.

Strategic Direction: 1 Strengthen protection and management of 52 priority KBAs to foster participatory governance, green recovery from COVID-19, climate change resilience, species conservation, and financial sustainability.
