Participatory Conservation of the Caoní River and its Endangered Species, Ecuador

Strengthen conservation efforts through participatory assessment of endangered amphibian species presence and habitat status through community monitoring of water quality and amphibian populations, that will inform an amphibian conservation plan for the Caoní River. Develop a conservation mechanism for the Caoní River in collaboration with local stakeholders. Strengthen community governance of the river. Establish a permanent working group between municipalities, civil society organizations, communities and academia to monitor conservation actions and develop strategic alliances that ensure long-term protection of the river's biodiversity.
