Strengthen community-based conservation in the Mekong mainstream, upstream of Kratie, with a particular focus on the population and habitat of the Endangered Asian giant softshell turtle (Pelochelys cantorii). The project will increase cooperation between the Fisheries Administration and local communities; promote financial sustainability for community-based conservation; and strengthen the capacity of a community fishery to include turtle and fish conservation in its management activities.

Strategic Direction: 4 Empower local communities to engage in conservation and management of priority key biodiversity areas
