Lay the groundwork for the strengthened management of the Peckham Woods Key Biodiversity Area in Clarendon, Jamaica, through biological assessments focusing on plants, birds, insects and the Jamaican hutia (Geocapromys brownii). The grant also supports a socio-economic evaluation; awareness building of the area’s importance; strengthened commitment of government, donors and local communities to its conservation; and builds capacity for botanical assessment within the University of the West Indies.
