Conserve the 'Central Section' of the Mekong mainstream in Cambodia by reducing local people's reliance on natural resources and empowering communities to implement site-based conservation measures. Help at least 500 households to adopt alternative livelihoods and increase their disposable incomes. Link these benefits to conservation actions and build local capacity for conservation by establishing community-based organizations and environmental action groups.

Strategic Direction: 2 Develop innovative, locally led approaches to site-based conservation at 28 key biodiversity areas
