Applicants

As part of CEPF's focus on building the capacity of civil society, we provide a written explanation to all applicants whose proposals are unsuccessful. Applicants are encouraged to contact the relevant regional implementation team or CEPF grant director if they have additional questions about the decision.

If the applicant is not satisfied with the response, a grievance may be submitted to CEPF via the Conservation International (CI) Ethics Hotline. The CI Ethics Hotline consists of a toll-free telephone line (+1-866-294-8674) and a secure web portal that allows grievances to be made anonymously.

Community members and stakeholders

With regard to management of environmental and social risks, local communities and other interested stakeholders may raise a grievance, at any time, to the grantee, the regional implementation team or the CEPF Secretariat. Affected local communities should be informed about the provisions of CEPF’s Environmental and Social Management Framework, including its grievance mechanism. Contact information of the grantee, the regional implementation team and the CEPF Secretariat should be made publicly available.

The grievance may be submitted to the grantee, who should respond in writing within 15 calendar days of receipt. If the claimant is not satisfied, the grievance may be submitted to the CEPF Secretariat via the CI Ethics Hotline, by telephone (+1-866-294-8674) or secure web portal.
