Overview
In 2021, CEPF launched a new, separate investment of US$38 million in the Indian Ocean Islands region. The funding specifically focuses on building resilience to climate change on the island nations of Comoros, Madagascar, Mauritius and the Seychelles.
The ambitious 10-year project will award grants to civil society organizations—nonprofit groups, communities, universities and the private sector—working on conservation and climate change adaptation and mitigation in the region.
In 2024, CEPF received 9,433,962 euros in additional funding from the European Union as part of the Africa, Caribbean, Pacific Small Island Developing States (ACP-SIDS) program to also contribute from 2023-2028 to the reduction of the vulnerability of island populations by securing the critical ecosystem services they need to be resilient to climate change.
Updates on this project and its results will be made publicly available on this page.
