Develop and multiply capacities that promote the sustainable use of babassu palm, a native species of the Cerrado, to demonstrate that a sustainable development model can help preserve biodiversity and be a viable alternative to conversion of forest to monoculture. Create a sustainable agro-extractive corridor through a consortium of community enterprises that work with the processing of babassu in the states of Maranhão and Tocantins.

Strategic Direction: 6 Strengthen the capacity of civil society organizations to promote better management of territories and of natural resources and to support other investment priorities in the hotspot
